The 3 R’s of Men’s Health
People often ask me what I do as a urologist who specializes in Men’s Sexual Health. It is simple. I sum it up in 3 words. I refer to them as the 3 R’s of Men’s Health:
1. Rehabilitate
2. Reconstruct
3. Restore

September is Sexual Health Awareness Month.
Rehabilitate
Men diagnosed with prostate cancer often find themselves in a situation in which they are required to trade their erections or urine control in exchange for a cure. As a men’s health specialist, I focus on trying to preserve the quality of life of those men who had treatment for prostate cancer. I attempt to REHABILITATE the penis and pelvic floor muscles to keep you optimized. Penile rehabilitation is “a thing”. Through penile rehabilitation we help men recover their erections.

The prostate is a gland that surrounds the urinary channel. Therefore, when the prostate is removed after prostate cancer, a urologist needs to reconnect the urethra to the bladder neck. When this occurs, the urinary sphincter (or muscle that helps you control your urine) can get injured. When we talk about urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy, it is important to understand that the urinary sphincter will require time and effort to recover in order to help men regain their continence. We need to rehabilitate our pelvic muscles to achieve urinary continence.
Everyone ever diagnosed with prostate cancer should know one thing:
There is hope! We can help rehabilitate your erections and urine function after prostate cancer treatment. Do not fear your diagnosis. Do not fear the treatment for your prostate cancer. There are experts who can help rehabilitate your organs and recover your quality of life.
Reconstruct

Restore
Think about this word for a second… Restore. Restoration is such a powerful word. A urologist who specializes in men’s health can help RESTORE your life in so many different ways. We can help restore:
1. Form, Length and Function for men with Peyronie’s Disease2. Fertility for the couple struggling with infertility.
3. Life for those who have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer
4. Quality of life and normal urine flow for those with an enlarged prostate or BPH
5. Normal Testosterone levels for Male hypogonadism
6. Erectile function for those in despair.

Always remember 3 things….
We can Rehabilitate, We can Reconstruct and We can Restore. Talk to an expert. We wish to help you. Our goal is to reinvigorate not only the quantity but also your quality of life.
